Why did you want to become a colourist?
I decided to become a colourist because of my love for the creativity of this craft. By mixing together different colours, I can create different levels in depth and brightness, and by using different techniques I can ensure a person’s hair colour is beautiful and unique.
What do you love the most about your job?
I love to create new looks for my clients and I love the transformation process. It brings me a lot of joy to work with my hands and to work with all kinds of people. The best part of my job is making my clients happy and that they leave the salon having had a good experience.
What advice would you give to people treating their hair at home?
My advice is to try to wash your hair only twice a week and to use a good quality shampoo and conditioner. Also, use a hydration mask once a week. The mask will nourish your hair and give it that all important bounce and shine. Use the mask after you’ve shampooed your hair and apply the product to the lengths and ends. If you have time, leave it in for an hour, otherwise for a minimum of five minutes, then rinse.
My authentic beauty belief is…
When this is all over and we can be together again, we should all have more appreciation:
Appreciate that you are healthy and the same for the people around.
Appreciate what you have and what you can do for others.
Appreciate that we are able to make a connection with each other.
Together we can make the world better. Let’s make it happen. Stay safe, stay strong and stay positive! We are all in this together.
